en cours (2025–)

Rather than opting for demolition as requested by the brief, the project preserves the existing structure and introduces strategic subtractions to restore permeability between the town center and the riverside landscape. The partial removal of the ground floor slab creates new public pathways and visual connections across the site. Materials from the deconstruction are reused in pavements and interior flooring, proposing an uninterrupted landscape going through the building. At the heart of the project is a typological reflection on domestic space as a framework historically shaped by Modernity as a site for the perpetuation of inequalities. The project  aims to tie the transformation of the built environment to the capacity of housing to support diverse subjectivities and evolving forms of life. The project was awarded 1st prize in the SIA 142 Competition, launched by the Fondation HBM Jean Dutoit.
